Program aims

Professionals across a range of sectors are increasingly required to have experience and proficiency in professional communications. In every sector - business, education, the arts, health, technology, the sciences, government and public policy - people who possess professional communications skills gain a distinct advantage in career development and advancement. The Graduate Certificate of Professional Communications helps students develop professional expertise and competency in the generation and management of content for a range of audiences. Communications concepts and ideas are combined with real-world learning and work-integrated projects to encourage students to develop the skills and competencies required for roles in varied professional contexts.

Program objectives

On successful completion of the program students should:

• synthesise and ethically apply skills and knowledge in advanced professional contexts

• evaluate and critically analyse a range of ideas and theories pertaining to professional communications

• apply advanced knowledge, skills and competency in the content, epistemology, appreciation and practice of professional communications.

Australian Qualifications Framework

The Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) is a single national, comprehensive system of qualifications offered by higher education institutions (including universities), vocational education and training institutions and secondary schools. Each AQF qualification has a set of descriptors which define the type and complexity of knowledge, skills and application of knowledge and skills that a graduate who has been awarded that qualification has attained, and the typical volume of learning associated with that qualification type.

This program is at AQF Qualification Level 08. Graduates at this level will have advanced knowledge and skills for professional or highly skilled work and/or further learning.

Admission requirements

To be eligible for admission, applicants must satisfy the following requirements:

• Completion of an Australian university Bachelor degree in any area, or equivalent.
  or
  A minimum of five years’ professional work experience equivalent to a qualification at AQF Level 7.

• English Language Proficiency requirements for Category 3.

All students are required to satisfy the applicable .

If students do not meet the English language requirements they may apply to study a ¾«¶«´«Ã½app-approved . On successful completion of the English language program, students may be admitted to an award program.

Program fees

Domestic full fee paying place

Domestic full fee paying places are funded entirely through the full fees paid by the student. Full fees vary depending on the courses that are taken. Students are able to calculate the fees for a particular course via the
