At the age of 24 Constance Coverdale can just about count off the Master of Learning and Teaching as her third degree.
In her third year of studying her now completed Bachelor of Engineering (Honours), Connie began working as a Laboratory Technician at a local high school. From here, the decision to pursue education next became the obvious choice.
She found true delight in education, immersing herself in an environment that encapsulated everything she enjoyed, and, ultimately, giving her a clear pathway to a leadership role she desired.
With her experience teaching science and maths combined with her engineering and chemistry background, Connie is in the perfect position to emphasise the importance of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) in education today.
‘I love being able to teach in a way that my students feel free to contribute really amazing and innovative ideas, and teaching science and maths presents that opportunity.’
Now, in the midst of her degree, Connie is undertaking full-time study and full-time work, fully embracing the student ‘juggling-act’. Despite a hectic schedule, study has always been a priority to her as she knows it is a crucial stepping stone towards her future career goals.
