Cadastral surveying refers to those surveys involving the description of land boundaries and requires a thorough knowledge of the current cadastral system for the registration of land. Students will be able to outline the historical and current survey requirements for Queensland and select appropriate field measuring techniques, field checking procedures, marking requirements and drafting standards for cadastral surveys. A significant component of the course will be develop skills to solve and perform cadastral boundary reinstatement calculations for both rural and urban surveys and to categorise, apply and justify reinstatement principles for cadastral surveys.
