Overview
This course builds on students’ learning from second year courses in Physiology and Pharmacology and provides a comprehensive exploration of the changes in the functioning of the human body in disease states as well as the treatments that are used to cure disease or limit disease impact.
BIO3102 Human Pathophysiology provides a detailed exploration of the aetiology (causes), progression and treatment of some of the most common diseases affecting today's society. In addition to describing contemporary approaches to diagnosing and treating disease, the course will also explore emerging diagnostic technologies and treatments.
