Overview

Paramedic Placement 4 provides students with their fourth and final practical placement opportunity. This placement is the opportunity to hone the application of their skill and knowledge under supervision of a qualified paramedic. This course provides a capstone experience in the paramedic program.

This course is a competency-based course, and assessment items must be successfully completed to pass the course. These competency items form part of the USQ accreditation agreement with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

During the fourth placement of five weeks, students will be expected to perform as an integral third crew member and significantly contribute to clinical decision making and treatment decisions as well as actively participate in the patient care. Students will be expected to undertake many tasks independently while demonstrating a thorough knowledge and understanding of ambulance equipment, procedures, processes and documentation.
