Overview
All professional photographers are required to work collaboratively or individually to produce, manage and deliver professional projects for audiences. Professional photographers must have the professional communication and photographic skills to meet client expectations, and produce high-quality work, whether they are photographing a wedding in their community or producing superior images for a global advertising campaign. This course provides students with the opportunity to apply the skills and knowledge of advanced photographic practice to meet audience expectations and deliver work in an appropriate form and professional context. Students produce a self-initiated body of work that demonstrates investigative and technical skills in order to produce solutions and responses to a professional standard.
Students will consolidate their expertise as photographers by producing professional-standard work in response to briefs and editorial direction. Through mentorship and Work-Integrated Learning, they will manage a professional project, and deliver communications solutions for clients by producing innovative and professional presentations of photographic work. They will investigate the technology differences in work flow for film and digital photography, including file management, production selection, and archiving.
