This course introduces Master of Strength and Conditioning students to role that strength and conditioning coaches play in preventing and rehabilitating sports injuries. This course builds on the prior undergraduate knowledge the students have of anatomy and physiology, providing them with in-depth industry-relevant theoretical and practical knowledge across a number of key areas including identification and management of internal and external factors that contribute to sporting injuries, the anatomical, physiological and pathological characteristics of common sport injuries, the healing characteristics of various human tissues, and the design and implementation of injury prevention and rehabilitation programs. The course will also provide the students with knowledge of the psychological and sociological issues related to injured athletes.
