Overview
Commercial production embraces retail commercials, online storytelling, brand development through corporate video production and represents a significant sector in broadcast media. As such, an understanding of, and skills in, commercial production are significant for the broadcasting professional. In this course the student will be introduced to the diverse commercial production space within broadcast media.
This will include both radio and television production.
This is a viable space for students to consider for income generation as either a private business or to work for a number of large and small existing production houses.
TVR3006 will bring together many of skills learned and developed over the program.
Students will be provided a product that will require a number of outcomes include video and audio productions. Through the course, students will gain understanding around how each of the supporting elements of marketing, public relations and journalism connect with this important work.
Students will develop a campaign, produce video and audio products to demonstrate the knowledge gained and skills developed. This will be supported by client feedback. It is a real world project that will hone skills. Students will be going on site visits, engaging with leading industry members and hearing from leaders in the field.
