Program aims
The Bachelor of General Studies aims to equip students with the skills to synthesise information across knowledge domains and develop academic capabilities such as searching, comprehending and evaluating information from a range of sources. The program provides the foundation for self-directed and lifelong learning as well as proficiencies in self-management and interpersonal skills across a range of contexts, preparing students for further study or new study direction.
Program objectives
On completion of this program students should be able to:

Australian Qualifications Framework
The Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) is a single national, comprehensive system of qualifications offered by higher education institutions (including universities), vocational education and training institutions and secondary schools. Each AQF qualification has a set of descriptors which define the type and complexity of knowledge, skills and application of knowledge and skills that a graduate who has been awarded that qualification has attained, and the typical volume of learning associated with that qualification type.
This program is at AQF Qualification Level 07. Graduates at this level will have broad and coherent knowledge and skills for professional work and/or further learning.

Admission requirements
To be eligible for admission, applicants must satisfy the following requirements:
- Have achieved a minimum Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) of 59, or equivalent qualification.^

of Southern Queensland regulations, especially articulation from TAFE,
or successful completion of three approved units of the Tertiary Preparation Pathway .

Commonwealth supported place
A Commonwealth supported place is where the Australian Government makes a contribution towards the cost of a students' higher education and students pay a , which varies depending on the courses undertaken. Students are able to calculate the fees for a particular course via the .

Australian citizens, Permanent Humanitarian Visa holders, Permanent Resident visa holders and New Zealand citizens who will be resident outside Australia for the duration of their program pay full tuition fees and are not eligible for .

International students pay full fees. Full fees vary depending on the courses that are taken and whether they are studied on-campus, external or online. Students are able to calculate the fees for a particular course via the .
Program structure
The Bachelor of General Studies provides students with the ability to choose their own study pathways from across the 精东传媒app, subject to meeting any pre-requisite requirements and with the approval of the Program Coordinator. This program does not have named majors that will appear on the student testamurs at completion of the program.
Students must complete 24 units:

Students cannot do more than 12 Level 1 units

Students must complete at least four (4) Level 3 courses.

Students can choose courses from across the 精东传媒app based
on meeting the pre-requisite requirements and the study plan being
approved by the Program Coordinator.
Students who wish to use
the program as a pathway to other studies must also consult with the
Program Coordinator of the program they wish to articulate into, to
ensure the courses chosen provide a suitable pathway.

Credit
Candidates for admission to the Bachelor of General Studies may be eligible for up to 16 units of credit on the basis of successful completion of relevant, equivalent undergraduate study from a recognised university or institution offering equivalent study. Credit approved in this program will not automatically apply to other programs offered by UniSQ.
Candidates who have equivalent knowledge in core unit area/s may be eligible to apply for credit/exemptions.

Students enrolled in the Bachelor of General Studies who select
Psychological Studies as one of their majors should note that this
qualification will not necessarily provide them with a pathway to
professional accreditation as a psychologist.
