Overview
Collaboration is of central importance to most music making. In this course students continue to learn practical skills in musical technique and communication, particularly as they relate to contemporary ensemble playing. Students participate in collaborative activities aimed at further developing to an advanced level the prototype behaviours of a functional musician, including musicianship, versatility, adaptability, leadership, reliability, interpersonal skills and self-reflection. Students learn to further develop and deliver their own projects to an advanced level.
This course further develops the skills acquired through completion of MUI3005 by requiring students to work both independently and collaboratively on a project. Students work independently initiate and lead projects or to participate in projects as a team member, and to work collaboratively with each other. Online students will continue with their ensemble activities from MUI3005 or propose a new ensemble activity.
