Program aims

For Photography students

The program aims to produce diplomates who have:

• Demonstrated competencies in communication skills necessary for further academic study in appropriate discipline areas

• Acquired basic knowledge in the discipline of Photography in a relevant degree program.

For students intending to transfer to other UniSQ programs

This program aims to provide students with:

• An introduction to university study by a selection of courses from the discipline of Photography.

• An awareness of the nature of study in a field of professional communication and/or media.

• Developed foundation knowledge, skills and competencies in Photography.

• A fundamental ability to express thoughts with clarity and coherence in written and/or oral forms.

• Acquired sufficient knowledge to make informed choices about possible further study.

Australian Qualifications Framework

The Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) is a single national, comprehensive system of qualifications offered by higher education institutions (including universities), vocational education and training institutions and secondary schools. Each AQF qualification has a set of descriptors which define the type and complexity of knowledge, skills and application of knowledge and skills that a graduate who has been awarded that qualification has attained, and the typical volume of learning associated with that qualification type.

This program is at AQF Qualification Level 05. Graduates at this level will have specialised knowledge and skills for skilled/paraprofessional work and/or further learning.

Admission requirements

To be eligible for admission, applicants must satisfy the following requirements:

• Have achieved a minimum Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) of 65, or equivalent qualification.^

• Assumed knowledge expectations: English (Units 3 & 4, C).

• English Language Proficiency requirements for Category 2.

All students are required to satisfy the applicable .

If students do not meet the English language requirements they may apply to study a 精东传媒app-approved . On successful completion of the English language program, students may be admitted to an award program.

Commonwealth supported place

A Commonwealth supported place is where the Australian Government makes a contribution towards the cost of a students' higher education and students pay a , which varies depending on the courses undertaken. Students are able to calculate the fees for a particular course via the .

Program structure

The Diploma of Professional Photography comprises eight units of study, one of which is a core course. The remaining seven units of courses UniSQ are comprised of Photography courses. The Diploma of Professional Photography may articulate into the UniSQ Bachelor of Communication and Media.

Core courses

Commencing students must complete HAC1000 The Skilful Communicator^拢 and HAC1001 The Professional Self: Building Career Identity in their first and second semester of study. A credit for these courses may be granted for students with a previous UniSQ undergraduate degree.

A Diploma of Professional Photography, subject to selection of appropriate courses, articulates into the Bachelor of Communication and Media . Students must keep in mind that normal entry requirements still apply for their chosen area of study.
