Program objectives

Bachelor of Arts

  • Evidence professional knowledge and skills in one or more disciplines which will equip students to be competitive in the regional and global workforce;

  • Use creative and critical thinking processes to evaluate multiple sources of evidence, explore new ideas and possibilities, formulate arguments, and apply reasoning and reflection to develop solutions to complex real-world problems;

  • Engage independently and collaboratively in informed debates, discussion, and activities to extend and advance effective communication skills in a range of oral, written and digital modes;

  • Act as responsible, ethical professionals and global citizens by applying awareness of social responsibility and professional integrity to interactions with other professionals and the wider community;

  • Show evidence of skills and capabilities, as well as initiative and resourcefulness, necessary to make a valuable contribution to the professional workplace, and respond to changing industry needs;

  • Recognise and apply cultural awareness and tolerance for diversity within team, community and workplace settings.


Bachelor of Business

  • Work autonomously and collaboratively to contribute to organisational initiatives by selecting and applying relevant theory to analyse and generate solutions to dynamic issues and changing landscapes.

  • Evaluate inputs from various sources and stakeholders to ensure that the interests of others, including organisational, societal, environmental, and professional expectations, are recognised.

  • Evaluate digital technologies, mechanisation, computerisation, and/or automation to support current and future business processes in the relevant domain of specialist expertise.

  • Communicate broad-level specialist advice to others to build professional credibility.

  • Exercise professional judgement using critical and reflective thinking and self-directed learning to continue developing as a self-reliant, ethical, and responsible professional.

  • Leverage a well-developed professional identity by exhibiting the human capabilities and knowledge demanded by modern organisations.

Australian Qualifications Framework

The Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) is a single national, comprehensive system of qualifications offered by higher education institutions (including universities), vocational education and training institutions and secondary schools. Each AQF qualification has a set of descriptors which define the type and complexity of knowledge, skills and application of knowledge and skills that a graduate who has been awarded that qualification has attained, and the typical volume of learning associated with that qualification type.

This program is at AQF Qualification Level 07. Graduates at this level will have broad and coherent knowledge and skills for professional work and/or further learning.

Admission requirements

To be eligible for admission, applicants must satisfy the following requirements:

  • Have achieved a minimum Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) of 62.7, or equivalent qualification.^
  • Applicants for the double degree must satisfy the requirements for admission to the Bachelor of Arts and the Bachelor of Business.

  • English Language Proficiency requirements for Category 2.


All students are required to satisfy the applicable .

If students do not meet the English language requirements they may apply to study a ¾«¶«´«Ã½app-approved . On successful completion of the English language program, students may be admitted to an award program.

These are determined by the ¾«¶«´«Ã½app for specific programs each Semester. The 2023 ATAR and tertiary entrance ranks are based on agreed QTAC schedules which assess formal study at Year 12 or , tertiary, preparatory, professional or vocational qualifications or work experience, as detailed in the QTAC Assessment of Qualifications Manual and QTAC Assessor Guidelines.

Commonwealth supported place

A Commonwealth supported place is where the Australian Government makes a contribution towards the cost of a students' higher education and students pay a , which varies depending on the courses undertaken. Students are able to calculate the fees for a particular course via the .

Domestic full fee paying place

Australian citizens, Permanent Humanitarian Visa holders, Permanent Resident visa holders and New Zealand citizens who will be resident outside Australia for the duration of their program pay full tuition fees and are not eligible for .

The Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Business double degree comprises 32 units.

Please note: only one extended major can be completed in the Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Business double degree.
